Beginner's Mattress Buying Guide

Original Mattress Factory Classic

by Michael
(Dublin, Ohio)

I purchased a full size Classic mattress and box springs in 2002. The fact that I am just reviewing now may say something. The mattress was adequate for me as a side and stomach sleeper.

Even forgetting to flip the mattress as frequently as I should it has held up exceedingly well. In the last year it has started to get a small dip in the middle. After almost 10 years a small dip can hardly be complained about.

The mattress has stayed medium firm the whole time and I am just now starting to look to replace it. Based on the comfort, price and durability, I will be returning to the original mattress factory.

Since I will be upgrading to a queen and should not be moving for a while I will probably go with the higher spring count Regency model. The only annoyance with this mattress is that the coils are very interlinked and you feel movement more than I like. On the other hand I have concerns about individually pocketed coil mattresses and am not a fan of the heat from memory foam or its price.
